Franca Hehenkamp
Franca is a researcher and policy advisor at Atria. She is working on the project Act4RespectUnlimited on preventing gender-based violence among youth. She studies partner violence among LGBTQ+ youth and evaluates the Happy2gether plus training, which focusses on the prevention of partner violence among young people with a mild mental disability. She is also involved in the Commission on the Status of Women, an annual UN-meeting on gender equality and empowerment of women and girls. Moreover, she is a trainer for politicians and professionals, in gender stereotypes and gender sensitive policy and regulations.
Previously, she graduated from Radboud University in Nijmegen with a Master of Science in Political Theory and a Bachelor in Political Science. Before she started working at Atria,
Franca worked two years as a government policy adviser, including policy advisor diversity and inclusion.

Franca’s expertise lies in the fields of gender stereotypes, gender sensitive policy, inclusion and intersectionality. She is familiar with scientific research and qualitative research methods.
