Atria’s library & archive in the centre of Amsterdam host one of the world’s largest collections on women, gender and diversity. Especially for Pride Amsterdam, Atria created the Pink Tour. The crash course is given in English.
The history of the Dutch lesbian movement with Atria’s collection as common thread. From feminist activists Paarse September (‘Purple September’) to the annual celebration of Roze Zaterdag (‘Pink Saturday’). About angry dikes and the Lesbisch Prachtboek (a book on amazing lesbians). A compelling, informative and sometimes rather comical story based on unique pieces from the collection.
Women from then will join us and share their experiences: Gon Buurman (July 30) and Twie Tjoa (July 31).
