Women gathered in the informal group Zagreb Women’s Lobby issued a public appeal to world governments, regimes, and all world women’s and peace organisations concerning rape during wartime.

The text deals with SOS hotline for women and children victims of violence, relying on experiences with the first hotline in Yugoslavia established by feminist activists in Zagreb in 1988.

The text is written by the women gathered on the Second Yugoslav feminist meeting held in Zagreb from 16 to 18 December 1988 and contains conclusions from the meeting and feminist political demands.

Progress made with Istanbul Convention and #Metoo seems to reflect that efforts to address gender based violence always touch upon strong personal feelings.
