Marital captivity

Marital imprisonment concerns a current social problem that occurs mainly among migrant women and within religious communities (Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, and Catholicism). Marital imprisonment occurs when a spouse (usually the woman) cannot manage to get her marriage dissolved according to the rules of her religion or in her country of origin.

This short documentary tells the story of a woman who has been trapped in her marriage for years and cannot get a divorce.
