Made possible

Examples of projects and initiatives made possible with support from the Aletta Jacobs Fund include:

  • Stipend Larissa Pans
Since 2025, Larissa Pans has been affiliated with Atria as a fellow with a stipend made available by the Aletta Jacobs Fund. This stipend will allow historian and journalist Pans to complete her research into the life and significance of Mary Zeldenrust-Noordanus (1928-1984), former president of the Dutch Society for Sexual Reform (NVSH).
During 2026, the biography of Zeldenrust-Noordanus will be published. An unjustly forgotten icon of the sexual revolution in the Netherlands will thus finally get her rightful place in history.

  • Archive Women's Group Kelompok
In 2023, the archives of the Kelompok group were arranged and inventoried by the women of the first hour. All documents were then scanned by Atria and, since autumn 2024, the entire archive has been digitally accessible to everyone.
Thanks in part to the contribution of the Aletta Jacobs Fund, the Kelompok archive has been unlocked and made digitally accessible. This way, future generations can also learn about the history of this special Moluccan group of women and do further research on this history.

  • Oral history project: Everything went locked - Child labour Girls the Good Shepherd
Partly with support from the Aletta Jacobs Fund, Atria recorded the oral histories of women who were put to work against their will by the Roman Catholic Church. The long interviews (3-4 hours) were recorded at Atria for permanent access for digital research data (DANS).
