Trained as an art historian and teacher, he has wide experience in management and project leadership within both the cultural and NGO sectors. In Namibia, he held managerial positions at NGOs focused on public health and poverty alleviation. He then worked as a manager and heritage professional at the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision and the Netherlands Photo Museum.
