Today we celebrate 90 years of history. A milestone we are proud of. During the coming year, we celebrate that we have been documenting the history of the women's movement for 90 years. With our collection and knowledge, we support the social debate on gender equality and contribute to an inclusive and just society.

On 3 December 1935, three leading feminists, Rosa Manus, Johanna Naber and Willemijn Posthumus-van der Goot founded the International Archive for the Women's Movement. They did so to collect and preserve the heritage of women and the women's movement and to promote scholarly research on the position of women.

Now, 90 years after its founding, Atria manages one of the richest and most comprehensive collections in the field of gender equality and women's history in the world. In light of current social developments, our function as a knowledge institute remains as relevant as ever.

With a new visual identity and website, we celebrate the start of the anniversary year. Our new look suits who we are: an organisation with history and looking ahead.
