Hans van der Windt is head of collections and research. He studied art history and archaeology at the University of Utrecht. His specialism is heritage and collections management, and he has experience as a manager in both the cultural and non-governmental sectors. In previous years, he worked as business manager at the Nederlands Fotomuseum in Rotterdam and as manager of collections and presentations at the Nederlands Instituut voor Beeld en Geluid in Hilversum. 

Hans worked in Namibia for five years as a manager at non-governmental organisations focusing on the fight against tuberculosis, HIV and poverty. He also devoted himself to organisations that improve the living conditions of underprivileged people and fight stereotyping.
