Ca la Dona’s Documentation Centre and Library has developed as part of the larger project of Ca la Dona as a place of encounter for women and women's groups. Founded in Barcelona in 1987, Ca la Dona takes an active part in the Catalan women's movement, offering a wide range of activities and resources for women’s empowerement. Its documentation centre, specialised in the history of women and the women's movement in Catalonia, holds an important bibliographical fund and a unique collection of posters, leaflets, reviews, photographs, documenting the development of the feminist movement during the last forty years, which is steadily increasing thanks to the donation of materials formerly held in feminist activists’ and researchers’ personal archives.
