Summary:
In order to influence a planned revision of The Parental Leave Act a coalition of the women’s movement, trade unions and political parties on the left wing launched a campaign in 1980. On top of the long wish list stood 34 weeks’ paid maternal leave plus 13 weeks’ paid parental leave, guaranteed public childcare after the leave and paid reduced working hours for families with small children.
