Summary:
One of the first articles in Greece which comments on how language reflects and reproduces gender roles and stereotypes, as well as sexual violence against women. The article reflects on how the Greek language has consolidated the male sovereignty, by describing how professions, such as doctors, lawyers, governors, writers, teachers, are presented always with a masculine article, despite the fact that the Greek grammar had two articles: masculine and feminine.
