Summary:
This text is a resolution dated March 8, 1989. The text requests: a) the government to take immediate steps to introduce electoral quotas of 35%, b) the parties to establish quotas in their organs c) that unions be sensitized to the issue. The mobilisation was put forward by women’s committees of political parties and other associations of the traditional liberal democratic space. At the same time the autonomous feminist movement considered such an issue of minor importance on the grounds that quotas will not solve effectively the problem of women’s participation in the centres of power.
