The boss is a straight man, pink is a color for girls, boys are better at technique – these are stereotypes. Gender-stereotypical representations lead to inequality between men and women, from a lack of women in leadership positions to a shortage of female science students. In many cases these are stereotypes that have concrete consequences.
Atria critically examines how ideas about what ‘feminine’ and ‘masculine’ is work in social relations and offers possibilities for a different approach.
