It is a theoretical text with a big impact on the future consciousness raising. It is focused on women´s movement, feminist theory, identity, reception of Simone de Beauvoir, and some other basic relevant problems of feminism in theory and praxis.

Women have been exploited over centuries. The authors are against a division into female and male jobs and demand a series of actions to level out the women’s deficit in education and professional training.

The book consists of three parts. The first parts present feminist ideas and analysis, followed by discussions about the “new women’s movement”, both Finnish and international.
